Main Aims

  • To provide specific information and detailed listening practice using a text about Holiday Dialogue in the context of Shopping
  • To provide clarification, review and practice of Holiday words in the context of Outdoor

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Have a discussion at the end of the class in the context of Holiday

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lesson with the charade game, which I believe sets a positive environment for the next procedures.

Vocabulary(main) (12-14 minutes) • Make students familiarise with the key words before they head to listening and reading

Assuming that students will learn pre-vocabs in the charade game, in this part of the lesson, the lesson will go directly to one of the main aims, vocabulary part.

Preparing students for the listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging tasks such as presenting pictures.

Showing students some visuals related to the listening part and make them ready for the listening. Asking some questions about the visuals and eliciting some ideas about what are they going to listen to.

Listening(main) (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening task

students will listen to the tape and tries to answer the relevant questions.

Close up (7-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Assuming that students learned a reasonable amount of vocabulary. in this final part, the teacher will get the students into discussion in groups and then getting individual answers. Giving feedback while doing so.
