In this lesson, Students will learn present perfect tense while engaging student focused activities related to the their own experiences. The lesson start by asking some questions to set the context and activate students' schemata as well. Then it will continue by showing the students a movie clip which represents the grammar. After doing some activities, students will work in pairs and ask questions from each other. at the end, students will do their homework with the handouts that I will give them.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of expriences.


Lead-in (10-10 minutes) • To set leto set lesson context and engage srudents

This is a lead-in activity to activate the class at the start of the session and engages Ss attention in the topic of the lesson which is ' present perfect tense'. First the teacher will ask some questions from handouts, then they become familiar with the word of experience. Questions: -Have you ever been to Australia? - Have you ever eaten Italian food? -How long have you been in trip? -How long have they been at war?

Test #1 (12-15 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

The teacher will pair Ss and provide them with a HO of different questions which are related to the topic of the lesson and will personalize the topic as well so Ss will will get more engaged with answering the questions which are related to their personal experiences. Questions: - Have you ever read a novel? - Have you ever copied your homework? - Have you ever cheated at school? - Have you ever cried at the cinema? - How long have you worked in your job? - How long have you been married?

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

At this stage the teacher will give Ss another HO and they have to answer the questions, i will get the groups to compare their answers with each other and whilst they are checking the answers, i will write answers on the WB and ask them to check their works. i will play a short video which includes information about present perfect tense.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language

At this stage Ss have to make questions and write it on the board and ask other students, through this activity i will check them .
