Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Warm up to discuss work with the students and what do they do during their day, is it busy or is it fun?

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Showing the student a photo of someone sitting at a computer , then speak about the photo, what would he be doing? writing what? about what? to who? then do you write emails, to who mainly?

While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-4 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

A couple of emails will be presented to the student to point out in a quick look what is the purpose of each email

While-Reading/Listening #2 (4-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Then reading for details in picking out the phrases that have a formal and informal style and put them in the table and then he will have another activity if there is time to change the formal into informal and to change the informal into formal

Post-Reading/Listening (5-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The student will write an email (one formal and one informal) Write to a customer to tell them that the product/service they want is not available at the moment Write to a friend to tell them that you haven’t got something they want from you.
