Description

In this lesson, students learn some new words followed by a writing activity. Then it will be followed by a speaking activity.

Materials

Abc Pictures from google search engine.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy for speaking practice in a conversation.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and specific information for writing practice through using visuals.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T. engages Ss in the topic by asking Ss about their dream jobs. Question: What is your dream job? -Ss express their opinions.

Exposure (5-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through pictures.

-T. shows pictures. -T. asks CCQs. -T. elicits answers. -Ss answers.

Clarification/Presentation (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T. explains the meaning, form. and pronunciation of each word.(MFP) -T. models and drills to detect any problems in pronunciation. -Ss. models to make sure that they pronounce words right.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-Ss are divided into groups according to their number. -T. tells them to answer the exercise in the book. -Ss answer. -T. monitors and takes notes. -Each group checks its answers with the other. -T. elicit answers.

Productive Task (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills. Also, to help Ss practice the new vocabulary.

-T. asks each group to writes from 3 to 5 sentences about their dream job. -T. gives examples on the board to help Ss in writing. -Ss start writing. -T. monitors and takes notes. -Each group of Ss chechks with the other. -T. checks their papers.

Feecback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language.

-T. writes Ss mistakes on board to be corrected.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T. asks each group to select a representative. -T. ask each representative to explain a word without talking. -Ss. start free practice. -T. gives positive feedback.
