Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Use eliciting techniques (provided in the materials) for the new words.

Pre-Reading/Listening (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Write on WB a sample email. Differentiate between mail and email.

While-Reading #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

-Give Ss H/O to read the email with their pair -T read the email to Ss with illustrations/gestures/visuals -Instruct Ss to do exercises relating to the reading.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (16-18 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-Preview is/are and check with pairs (Monitor) -Teach pl. form of vb. to be and contractions. H/O exercise relating to it. -H/O email 2 and instruct to circle the correct answer -Teach and/but and H/O exercises -Listening-H/O exercises on contractions of vb. to be in positives and negatives with the use of and/but.

Post-Reading (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Have Ss interact with each other on what they have learned from email A and B.
