Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To review jobs from previous lesson

- Explain instructions for activity: Write down 4 jobs and act out to your partner - Do a demonstration of acting out a job - Have students guess the job that their partner is acting out

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- Write on WB a sample email address and practice pronunciation and spelling. - Break into pairs and give handout for email address practice. - Students will practice saying the sample email addresses on the page - I will then instruct students to ask their partner for his/her email address and write it down

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- Break students into pairs - Provide handouts for filling out while listening - Allow partners to discuss and compare before listening again - Listen one additional time

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

- Have students listen to recording and practice pronunciation and drills together. - We will stop the recording and practice as necessary first with T-S interaction, then in pairs

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • Use personal information items we have previously learned

- Have students work in pairs - Have students interview their partner and fill out new member information - Have students check their work
