To eslablish SS leavels in relation to the course, To identify Ss strength and weaknesses related to the skills and the language areas covered in the course
To help teacher adopt a suitable teaching method to better meet the needs of the students
Procedure (38-51 minutes)
Great students Any getting to know activities ( most likely students know each other so you can skip if it's a new class ) Establishing routine - class rules - class contract - reward system Teacher can play a quick game to break the Ice ( hot seat, Or board run )
introduce the exam, show how many parts and the reason why they are doing it. make sure you have the CD with your class CD See how many copies do you need There is one copy provided just ask Lam to photocopy for you.
Check answers in pairs without changing any of the answers Ask students to swap papers and check answers ( they can also write how many marks did their partner has) Go over the mistake and address the common ones on the board.
You can look over the exams and provide some extra control practise regarding speaking/listening
Any game Ex ( stop the bus )
