Description

In today's session students will write a film review using the sample provided by the course book. In previous lessons they learnt the new vocabulary and have talked about the movies already, they almost have the knowledge to write a film review.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I start with presenting sime photos and elicit some information about the Turkish actor in the photo, moving on, I plat a short part of a comedy and put the students in either pairs or groups to talk what they have watched and either the liked to see it (the whole movie) or not.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

In the pairs or groups of 3 ss will skim the reviews and answer this question: does the writer recommend this movie? Why? (Written on the WB), ss will read and decide in their pairs or groups and they report it to class. Next, ss complete the text using the given words.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

ss will make brief notes under the given headings. For feedback check the answers as a class

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

ss will use the sample for notes and prepare their notes for their favorite movie and using the notes and write about their favorite movie. They will put up their answers on the wall for the other pairs to decide if they want to see the movie or not.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Make notes of ss possible mistakes during the class and by delayed correction, correct their mistakes.
