Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice in the context of cosmetic surgery

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy in the context of cosmetic

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At first, setting the context to familiarize students that I'm going to teach in it and prepare them with asking questions related to the cosmetic surgery .So, students will get more engaged . Do you like getting more attractive/ What's your main criteria for that? If you have money what cosmetic surgery do you like? Which do you like at first? Do you think cosmetic surgery is important ? (do you agree or not?)

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

To elicit block vocabulary with students by saying short speech related to the topic and make them more familiar with new lexis in the reading and ask some question about it. Before asking ,I will divide into small discussion groups, give them HO, included to make them give solution. Afterwards, I'll check their answer .While I elicit the words ,I will focus their attention to the TL and I follow m/p/f

While-Reading?#1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

To give them HO (general question) and the students will skim through the text , answer. To focus on improving speed of reading and students don't need to know all of the words .to check answer together(peer check),to give them written feedback(answer key) after.

While-Reading #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

to make them read the text slower.to answer detailed questions and to find specific information. My focus is more on lexis than general meaning .Students will answer the chart on page 57,then I'll go for the WC feedback.

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

At this age ,my focus is speaking related to the topic ,in order to meet the needs of visual and learner and activate(the class with audio and visual aid). I will play a short video about that. Students watch, then speak about advantage and disadvantage, using new lexis that I give them in the HO.
