To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation, role-play in the context of interview
Procedure (40-45 minutes)
-Ss choose a number inside the bag -Rules: No talking, do not share the numbers given. -Ask ss to make a proper line with the numbers given
Teacher demonstrates first sentence as an example and T tries to do with the Ss, Allow the ss work alone and then check the answers in pairs. Call the ss one by one to the WB in order to put the words in the correct order. If there is a wrong order T asks other ss "what would you change?"
T gives the handouts to all ss, Ask ss to do pw (T matches the ss) No A or B students. Ss work in pair for 2 minutes. T divides the class into 2 groups as A and B. Nominate 1 ss from group A to say the first expression and then nominate 1 ss from group B to say the match. T asks the ss to discuss "which questions are more formal?" 1-6 or a-f
T divides the class into 2 groups (A and B). Ss move chairs and make 2 circle groups. Ss read the instructions. Ss have 3 min to prepare their questions or answers while T is monitoring. T nominates 1 ss from each group for role-play. All the ss have 1 min to make role-play. Ss switch roles and ss have 3 min preparation.T is monitoring. T nominates 1 ss from each group for role-play. All the ss have 1 min to make role-play. T writes some of the questions ans answers to WB and ask ss "which sentences are good and which need improving?"
