In this lesson, SS will be engaged in S focused vocabulary building exercises, productive skill development by speaking and specific information related to a conversation between a journalist interviewer and a celebrity.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Ask the students about their favorite celebrity and why do they like him/her. -Teacher listen to 2 or 3 students. -Discuss.(oral) -Set exercise 1 (role-play and when the teacher say change the students change their roles) -Set students in pairs (A&B) -ICQ ( Who are As? Who are Bs?) -The teacher gives the students the handout -As ask Bs two questions -Teacher say change -Bs ask As same questions -Teacher asks for feedback (oral)

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-The teacher sets activity#2 -The teacher clarifies the meaning of "Rise & Fall" -The teacher gives the students the handout and ask them to read for gist (1min) -ICQ (What will we do now? How much time do we have?) -The teacher sets the students in pairs -The teacher asks the students to guess the rationale order of the text -ICQ (What will we do now?) -Peer check -The teacher plays the recording and the students a time to check their answers and change if necessary -Peer check -The teacher shows the text on the white board using OHP -The teacher nominates students to come to the white board and write their answers -WC feed back (white board)

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

-The teacher sets a matching activity using the white board and OHP -The teacher pre-teach new vocabulary and drill each word -The teacher gives the student a handout -The teacher sets the students in pairs and ask them to answer the matching activity -Peer check -The teacher nominates the students to come to the white board and write their answers -WC feed back (white board)

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

-The teacher gives the student a handout (WB activity#1-a) -The sets the students in pairs -Peer check -WC feedback (oral) -The teacher gives the students the answer key

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-The teacher sets the activity#3 -The teacher sets the students to sit in two rows facing each other -The teacher sets 1 row to be As and the other row to be Bs -The teacher gives student role-plays -The teacher allows the student some time to think about 3 questions -ICQ ( Who are As? Who are Bs? are As the interviewer? Are Bs the celebrities?) -The teacher asks the students to play their roles -The teacher monitors -The teacher nominates few pairs to play the role to the WC
