Description

In this lesson, the learners are going to learn "(be going to)' future tense(S+be going to+Vbase......./S+be not going to+Vbase....../Be+S+going to+Vbase?...?). After they get some knowledge about what they will learn through warmer and listening text,they will find a similarity between the first sentence implemented in lead in and the sentences they listened and filled in the blanks. Later on, MFP is going to take place as the students are trying to understand why they use 'be going to' ; they will be given the form by eliciting the structure. After that, the students are going to be given controlled practice activities e.g. transformation drills.Then,as a semi controlled practice,they will a chart including two people and their plans about the next year so the atmosphere of the class will be enjoyful. In order to practice speaking using the target grammar, they will be given some questions on the board about their future plans and let them speak fluently.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T writes 'CHANGES' on the board. -T asks some questions 'What do you want to change in your life?',What are you unhappy with in your life?,Do you want to change them?' and 'Do you have any plan to change them in the future? - After T elicits 'New Years resolution' warmer activity finishes.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T gives instructions for the listening activity by connecting with the previos warmer. T passes HOs adapted from (Face to Face Elementary) T asks ss to fill in the gaps while listening. T lets them check the answers in pairs and passes the answer key.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

After the listening practice,T writes 3 sentences that are taken from the listening script. -Then T elicits the time and meaning of the sentences by asking CCQs. -Then Telicits the from of the structures and uses CCQ. -T gives the main stressed main vocabulary,pronunciation and intonation through back chain drilling. -T asks the negative form of the sentence.Do MFP through the negative sentence and finally T shows the question form on the board and do MFP.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Teacher gives instructions for the activity.Teacher provides verb cards for a controlled activity. -Teacher does transformation drills with the ss.T shows the verb cards and demos. -Teacher do transformation drills through 6 verb cards. -Each time,ss wll change the verbs into affirmative,negative and interrogative form of the TL.The activity finishes.

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To check and control further and prepare ss less controlled speaking practice

-Ss will be given resolution pieces. -T wants them to practice their plans on some topic on the papers. -T monitors and takes notes ıf she finds any necessary to correct.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T wants ss to sit all students in the opposite and make 2 lines. -When T writes a topic on the board,they will start talking about those topics. -.After a limited time for each question,ss in one line will change. -So all students will be able to talk each other.
