Description

In this lesson, Ss will speak about dos and don'ts. The lesson starts by projecting a picture of dos and don'ts and the teacher will ask his students to give him an example about dos and don'ts. Then, students will have a reading activity which involves guessing vocabulary and matching. Through that activity, students will elicit some sentences that will help the main aim of the lesson which is speaking

Main Aims

Procedure

warmer (2-3 minutes) • To get the students interested in the topic by showing a picture of dos and don'ts

Engage ss by asking them to have a look at the picture of dos and don'ts and give an example of it from their personal experience.

Useful language (8-10 minutes) • To engage students prior knowledge of the target language

Show the students the exercise on the board before giving them the handouts, and ask them to guess the missing word.After that, ask the students to do the exercise individually before checking it with their partner.

Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through listening

After checking their answers with their partners. ask the students to check their answers by listening to the audio. After that, try to elicit the answers from WC and double check it by projecting the right answers on the board.

Productive tasks (14-16 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

To group the students by giving them letters (a-b-c-d-e-f-g-h-i) and asking them to find their partner who has the same letter.then, show the students the exercise by projecting it on the board.After that, give the students the handouts and ask them to pick up the question that matches their letter. set a limit of 3 minutes to discuss the do and don'ts to their topic. Regroup the groups (a-b)(c-d)(e-f)(g-h-i) and give them 4 minutes to discuss the topics together.Then, enlarge the groups . for example (a-b-c-d ) (e-f-g-h-i) st time for 5 minutes to discuss their dos and don'ts.

feedback (9-10 minutes) • to provide the feedback to the students

To show pictures that match the questions and take the feedback from the whole class about their opinion about each topic. Try to eliminate TTT during taking the feedback.
