Description

in this lesson Ss will practice accuracy speaking in the context of describing the difference between two pictures and they will also be able to identify some information from listening task as a preparation for the lesson then they are going to know some new words such like ( prawns , drums , feathers , knives , spoons , forks ) and practice to use some in useful language in order to help them in describing the pictures and the differences between them .

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a discussion in the context of describing the differences between two pictures .

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of new words mentioned in the carnival pictures in the context of describing the differences between two pictures .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

#T tell the SS i'll play a video and try to guess what this video is showing or what we call this #T elicit Carnival or festival from the students then ask them some general QU's about carnivals * What they can do there ? *What can you see/hear there?

preparation (5-7 minutes) • to give students time to prepare some ideas on the topic .

#look at this picture *where are the people ? * what makes you think they are in a carnival ? # now in pairs try to find all the items in the pictures . check they got all the words correct check the meaning of some words and the pronunciation also . #now listen to A.t and number the things in the pictures she describes . #check their answers .

Useful Language (5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

#T will give the students sheet of paper with filling the gaps task . # students will answer individually . #show the students the answers on the Data Show . #Give the students feed back on the useful language .

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

#T will divide the class into A&B pairs A will take the picture in page 57 and B will take the picture in page 148 . # make sure that they didn't look at each other's pictures . # T tell the SS that they should try to find ten differences between the two pictures by describing and asking questions to their partner and they should not look at each other's pictures #Monitoring and pay attention to the mistakes with the useful language #Then students will have some time to practice using the useful language in describing the differences

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

provide the SS with feed back to the errors of their speaking
