Description

in this lesson, students have a reading about acts of kindness and bravery.at the beginning, there is a short video about good deed then students see some pictures and talk about them lesson continues with pre-teach vocabularies and we start while reading with gist reading and in the last section of while reading they have reading for detail T/F questions.for post reading students have a discussion about characters of the reading. at the end,each group or student is given a set of pictures and they describe the situation and tell others what they would do in that situation.

Main Aims

  • at the end of the lesson, my students have practiced detailed reading using a text about acts of kindness and bravery in the context of Good deed

Subsidiary Aims

  • at the end of the lesson, my students will be able to provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of good deed

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

students watch a short video related to the topic which is good deed. students are shown some pictures about acts of kindness and bravery and they discuss about the pictures and what they would do in that situation. FB: students share thier ideas with WC.

Pre-Reading/Listening (4-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T says to the students that predict what is the reading according to the things they have seen or discussed. Then T starts to teach some new words by picures ,T elicits the words and covers the meaning by CCQs.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

students have two questions to cover for reading for the gist and they have just 3 minutes to find the answers. pair check FB: T asks and students answer.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

in the next part they have reading for detail and students have 8 to 10 minutes to read the text and answer T/F questions. pair check FB: students write the answers on the board.

Post-Reading (5-6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

pictures of characters of the reading are shown on the board and students start to discuss about the characters in their pairs and each pair will share their own ideas with WC.

Post-Reading (5-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

students are given some pictures related to good deed and in a group ,they have one minute to discuss and think then they share their ideas with other group or other students. Error correction, if there was any pronunciation mistake T corrects it.
