Description

In this lesson, the students will deal with some listening materials in order to make them improve their listening skills.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist, specific information and detailed listening practice using a text about food in the context of what's your favorite food

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of food

Procedure

Lead-in (2-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-A video will be displayed to the students to set them well with the context of the lesson.

Pre-Vocab Teaching (3-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

a few vocabs will be clarified to the students to make the listening activity easier for them.

Listening for gist (8-11 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist

-The students will listen to the audio material in the ex5 and will individually answer the questions in the ex5 page 67. -Ss will pair cheek their answers -FB: The answers to exercise 5 will be displayed on the board.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (9-13 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-The students will listen to the track T.8.9 and they will answer the questions individually. -The students will check in pairs their answers. FB: The audio track will be played again and stopped every time to help students verify their answers.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

-The students will be given free time and they will ask each other about their favorite sandwiches and where they usually go and eat them. - The students may go on board for this activity if time allows.
