Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'm going to start with presenting some pictures of hippies and goths, and ask the student whether or not they know which style is it? Then I'll ask them to work in pairs to answer these questions, which type of music do they like? What other interests do they have? What do the clothes they wear says about them? Judging from appearances what do you think these people believe is important in life? What was the first thing they noticed about the people in the pictures?. I'll ask them which style did they followed when they were young?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I'll write their feedback to explain vocabulary before giving them the HO of the article

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask them to think of a title that would suit the article

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

then I will give a HO to match the words with the paragraph in which they were mentioned

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

at this stage I'll use the PP to make the the Ss work in pairs and answer these questions. Does any youth culture exist in Turkey? How is youth culture different now from ten year ago?
