Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Put yellow tac on the wall and hang up words for stage 2. I will start of by greeting the class and following up with questions about how they feel. I will use simple adjectives like "are you feeling happy today?" just to lead them in to the subject.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Put the words from the WB on the wall and give SS anagrams to match with the words on the wall.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- Draw two circles on the board and lable them with names from the WB. -Read out the text and let the SS figure out the answer that is sought.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-Hand out the text used in previous stages for SS to underline the correct words. -Read the text again.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

-Onion ring exercise. Put SS in two rows facing each other in pairs. Ask questions about mood. One row is fixed and the other one rotates to change partners. -Extra activity
