Description

In this lesson, students learn about the usage of some adjectives for good and bad. They will be given some words and they will be asked to give the opposite of these words.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of what some words regarding what is good and what is bad

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the light of being aware of the usage of adjectives

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Students will be given a story including the adjectives of what is good and what is bad. -Students need to know that some of this words are good and some of them are bad. -I will try to elicit the story by using pictures.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

-Students will listen to the intonation -They will be aware of how a certain word tone goes up and comes down. -They need to practice through the listening

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-Students will be given a practice activity the one which is on the exercise 3. -They will be asked asked to match the nouns with the adjectives, or they will play a game including these adjectives.

While-Speaking (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference speaking tasks

-students will be asked to practice the conversation in the exercise 4. -Students will come to the floor and ask each other these questions.

Post-Speaking (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to Speak and produce with the usage of these adjectives

-Students will be given an extra activity regarding these adjectives. -I will ask them to write three sentences about themselves using these adjectives.
