Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of there is /there are: negative, yes/ no questions and short answers; any in the context of places in a town or city

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of places in the context of town or city

Procedure

Building context (6-6 minutes) • To generate interest in the topic and context of the listening.

I will ask the students to tell me about some places next to their houses. I will brainstorm some of the already existing vocabulary in their mind and give them pictures with words to match in pairs. After students will listen to q record qnd drill the words.

Listening task (5-5 minutes) • To contextualize and introduce the target language. To practice listening for detail

Students listen alone to the record and numerate the events in their sequential order.

Highlight target language (2-3 minutes) • To highlight the target language so that learners are focused on it.

Students will listen again to the record and circle the correct words they hear. they will circle alone then will check with their partner.

Clarifying target language. (15-15 minutes) • To clarify meaning so learners understand it. To clarify the pronunciation so learners know how to say it. To clarify form so that learners know how to construct it.

I will clarify the grammar of ' Is there' 'are there' and 'any' using power point in the projection. I will use drilling, finger techique and eliciting.

Language practice (15-16 minutes) • To provide contolled oral and written practice focused on using the language accurately

Students will work alone an exercice of Yes/No questions, then, I will regroup the class and ask the students to think about 3 questions for their new partners and ask them . After, each student will tell the class about one place near their partner's house.
