Description

In this lesson students will practice speaking in the context of ordering food and drinks in a restaurant. At the bigenning of the lesson, students will learn new vocabulary and useful language, then learner will watch a short video and finally, the will focus speaking.

Materials

Main Aims

  • focusing on practicing speaking, so students will have practiced speaking in the context of ordering and drink food in a restautrant.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To learn vocabulary and useful language in the context of ordering food and drink in a restaurant.

Procedure

Lead in (3-5 minutes) • To get students' attention and to give a clue about the cotext of the lesson

start the lesson with flower man game with word restaurant.

Preparing for the task (3-6 minutes) • To provide the learners with a model of the task.

Show the Ss a short video about a conversation between a waiter and 2 customers in a restaurant.

Useful Language (7-10 minutes) • To provide jand clarify language which the learners may find useful for the speaking task

give instructins for a matching task then handle out the task to the Ss. When they finish, I will put them in pairs to check, then get the FB. After that, modell and drill few words on the WB, then there will be 2 gruops. GW 1 is the waiter and the other is the customers, then drill the conversation, then let them do the converstations in the same way without modelling, thengive them filling the gaps task, when they finish, I will get the FB.

Speaking Task (10-20 minutes) • For learner to practice oral fluency in relation to speaking in a restaurant

give instruction and divide the class into groups then hand out the HO of the conversation between a waiter and 2 customers and let them practice while reading from the HO, then take the Ho. While they are practicing, I will be monitoring them to record their mistakes. If time allows, I will let evey group speak in front of the class to choose the best group.

Feedback/ error correction on the oral task (2-4 minutes) • To provide language and content feedback based on the task
