Main Aims

  • To provide review, clarification and practice of daily routines words in the context of daily routines

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of daily routines


Lead-in and (5-7 minutes) • To have a quick review on recently learnt lesson and to generate interest in the topic

divide the class in two groups , divide the B into two part and draw a big clocks in each part. give two markers with different colors to each group and ask them to draw the time the T reads aloud . Ss rash to the B and draw the time as soon as the T says the time give FB

presentation (5-13 minutes) • to clarify meaning , pronunciation and form

show a picture to introduce Carol "she is my friend Carol" she lives in Istanbul show a picture of Carol's daily routines in different times of a day write a normal life on the B stick photos of Carol's daily routines on the walls ,pair ss and Ss match the HOs with the pictures in pairs . HOs are in different colors so it will be easier to give FB Ss collect the words form the walls, listen and match the each listening with each word Ss drill after each pause , focus on word stress .

Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Stick times of day on the B . Ss stick the words in front of each day time in a correct order PW FB drills

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss look at the picture of Dr Hunt the HO and write the forms of the the word below each photo PW check FB to WC model a sentence and Ss write 6 sentences about the time they do this things PW check WC FB

Free Practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

give them a HO with series of questions Ss stand up and start finding who... in the class
