Description

The theme of this lesson is about different kinds of films.In this lesson, sts will see some visuals on different film genres. This will followed by doing some MFP and pronunciation drills and a mingling activity as a feedback.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Films

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Fore lead in T will try to elicit the topic from the sts by showing two pictures of people having popcorns in their hand watching a movie, T will then personalise the topic if they watch movies. sts will be asked to talk about their own personal preferences afterwards.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T will use visuals and pictures on the board to test which vocabulary need to be focused upon. She will ask them to spell the vocabulary. For this purpose, T will use CCQs which movie make you cry? which one make you laugh? after eliciting meaning T will need to look at the form; sts will be asked to spell the vocabulary, or if they know they are different in British and American or not. In order to find out those vocabulary that sts have problem sts will do a task by doing a matching activity of different genres and their definitions.

Teach (5-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

After T found those vocabulary that sts have difficulty, T will clarify them by showing their pictures and definitions, T will present different accents if there were any, CCQ will be done after that,

Test #2 (10-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

For more practice sts will be divided into different groups of two, they will sit back to back, group A and group B, each group will have different handouts on which they have different questions, one groups has the answers of the other groups questions, they will exchange questions.

Free practice (5-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

sts will be given HO and they will be asked to do mingling activity, they will move around and ask each other which movie genre do they like or dont like. T will monitor while sts are doing activities,

Feedback and Error correction (8 minutes) • To solidify new vocbulary

after the mingling activity, teacher will ask sts aboout different answers to find the most popular and the least popular movie genre in the class, There will be error corrections in the form of more practice if T found any error while monitoring.
