Description

In this lesson Ss will learn how to use and form present perfect tense and how it differs from the past simple tense.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of present perfect and simple past tense in the context of routine life

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of experiences

Procedure

Warmer - Lead in • To engage maximum students in the class.

A picture will be displayed through ppt and students will make five sentences. It's going to be a rotating activity, the teacher will ask the students to make lead in questions. (Time 5-10 mins)

Presentation • To provide plenty of input on the simple present perfect tense and to make participants practice it.

This activity will last for 10-20 mins. The activity invites learners to share life experiences and is therefore excellent for generating conversation and building fluency.

Production • To provide an environment to have a free practice with the cue cards.

Time 25-30 mins Class will be divided into groups. Each table will have 5 cue cards and a bottle to spin to play truth n dare. Students will rotate the bottle and to whosoever it indicates, has to choose between truth and dare.If they pick truth, they'll answer the cue card or if they pick dare they'll use the given tense in five consecutive sentences.
