Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will call 2 students and ask them to stand beside her in front of the class.She will ask the students to give their observation.Eg.B is taller than A B is shorter than C.T will tell them to compare C with A and B.Cis the tallest. T-SS

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Teacher will display different PPT and try to elicit the TL from the students. Asking questions like ;how many objects are we comparing here- 2 so what are we comparing?height..so what is it ..noun,adjective?Adjective So what do we call adjectives comparing 2 objects-Comparative Adjectives Next,T will display PPT showing Burj khalifa-ask them-name?what do you know about Burjkhalifa-Tallest building in the world.So is Burj Khalifa compared to one building?Elicit responses.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To review practice the form,pronunciation and spelling of the TL

T will display PPT on pronunciation and ask students to pronounce the words giving explanation on stress. T will sentence on board-Alice is taller than Betty Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun (object). +er than Betty is the tallest girl in the class Noun (subject) + verb + the + superlative adjective + noun (object). the +est Smart Fast-how many syllables Eg;My dog is smarter than your dog-smart 2syllable Jimmy is happier than Ben-Happy One syllable words- remove y and add +er 2syllable word-sammy is the happiest. Colourful,Important Dave's pic is more colourful than Kate's Danny's pic is the most colourful pic Irregular adjective Good,better best Bad worse worst Negative comparison My mobile is not as good as yours.

T asks students to write a paragraph comparing Sharjah with Dubai .T elicit from students points to check their understanding.
