In this lesson , Students will learn how to give advice using "should " and "shouldn't" through text - base presentation.I will start the lesson by having students to say what should they do in some situations.Then , I will elicit the use of should and shouldn't and check the meaning, form and pronunciation.Afterthat,there will be some free practice.The lesson will end with practising writing about what they should / shouldn't do at school, home and work.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of giving advice using "should and shouldn't" in the context of How To Do Well

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a paragraph in the context of How To Do Well

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage,Teacher will generate interest in giving advice by telling them that i have a problem ; I am tired and I have a headache,T asks them "what should I do?" t. repeats the question.T. elicits the advice with should or shouldn't. Then , T. shows them some pictures and the say what they should or shoudn't do in these situations.

Exposure and highight (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases and to highlight the target lsnguage.

T. gives the Ss a passage to read and say what things they are good to do and aren't good to do?T. uses CCQs to check why the things are good or bad to do. T. asks to read the passge again and underline the model verb and the main verb.

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

T.uses CCQs to check the meaning. You should eat healthy food. Is it a good advice / idea to do? Yes Is it a bad advice / idea to do ? No You shoudn't stay up late. Is it a good idea to stay up late? No is it in the past? No T. elicits the form of giving advice using should or shouldn't.T.elicits the Yes/No and Wh- question forms.T.models and drills pronunciation orally and individually.

Language Practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

1-T. asks the Ss to complete the sentences using should or shouldn’t. 2-T. asks the Ss to rearrange the words to make meaningful sentences or questions.
