Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage I will show the students some pictures of some famous people and ask them: what do the people in the photos do ? Would you like to do any of these jobs? If you get one of these jobs; what qualifies you to be successful in it? This lead in activity to attract the students attention to the context of the lesson 'choosing the right person' and to elicit some adjectives 'personal characteristics' from the students before teaching them the vocabulary.

Pre listening (10-14 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage I will teach the students the vocabulary about personal characteristics using the ECDW technique. Eliciting the meaning, ask CCQS, drilling, show them the form of the word. After that they will do a practice activity to practice the vocabulary. It's to choose three qualities for every job and write it down.

While listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Students will listen to an audio talking about a temporary summer jobs. The speaker in the audio is the manager of 'Vacation Express' making an interview. The students will answer four questions while listening and take notes. Then we will make feedback.

Post listening (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In this stage the students will make a freer practice which is speaking. They will discuss if they would like to do any of the jobs mentioned in the audio? Which one? And why. They will work in pairs and if we have time we will make a whole class discussion. Then as a feedback I will ask them about their ideas.
