Medication,Talk about Medication
Intermediate,Grade 2 level


In this lesson,students learn about the vocabulary of Medication.The lesson starts with a story about drugs.The story is about my disease .I want to describe the sickness and cure.After that ask students that which of them they know.Then starts the book with read the vocabulary part,and I teach them the vocabs with say the meaning and try to role-play some feelings of diseases.finally,there are some practice between students about the name of diseases and their medications.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Medication words,Medicine label information in the context of Drugs,sickness and form of medications

  • To provide fluency speaking practice of medication words and related diseases


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This is a lead-in activity to activate the class at the start of the session and engage students attention in the topic of the lesson which is `Medication`. First, the teacher will tell a story about diseases and ask students to say solutions and cures.Then the teacher explain the medications.

Exposure (5-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

At this stage due to the fact that my focus is on vocabulary related to types of medications,I will tell a story about diseases and medications

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage,as a task to focus their attentions to the target language,I will show them the written form of the target vocabulary.I will ask students try to understand the stresses of the vocabulary and their meaning.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

At this stage,I will play the listening of vocabulary to clarify the best pronunciation of them.After that ask them to repeat them and learn the dictation.Then I will explain the meanings and ask them to make some examples.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

At this stage,I will ask them to have conversations and use the vocabulary in pairs.They should memorize them and use it in conversation.They should know the drugs and related sicknesses.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students will have 3 minutes to think about the other medications that they know and then they make some sentences and write them and then share their ideas with their partners.After that they can discuss it in the class and have discussion about drugs and some how the medicine label information
