In the lesson, students are going to know about the shark attack on human thought a reading lesson using the passive and past continuous to help us in telling a story this lesson also contains some new lexis and some writings and conversations.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist, detailed and deduction reading practice using a text about dangerouse situations in the context of Terrifying shark attack storeis

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice about the most hard situations that happend to them in their life in the context of shark attack stories
  • To provide process and product writing practice of a writting a paragraph about the dangerous situations that could happen in our life in the context of Terrifying shark attack storeis
  • To provide clarification, review and practice of past continuous tense and passive voice in the context of terrifying shark attack stories.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

* I will start by asking them: Do you think if you found a shark in the water you will be attacked definitely? * Then I will play the video and ask them about their opinion after that. * I will ask them to discuss some information they have known from the video. *Feedback.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

* I will give then a matching activity they will answer it individually then check in pairs than my feedback, in the feed back iam going to explain the meaning of some hard words such as( Marine predator, punctured diaphragm, ripped lung, stitches, paramedics, gruesome, beachgoers, emerged, churning, left calf, investigators, mammals, authorities, shore ) by showing them some pictures and saying the meaning in some words and elicit the meaning from them in the others and ask some ccqs to make sure that they understand the meaning very well after that I will drill then say the right pronunciation and ask them to repeat after me.

While-Reading (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

*I will ask them to read the text quickly then I will ask them some about the responsibility for all these attacks which is the white shark. *I will ask them to discuss with their partners the worst story and why? *I will ask them to read the questions in the activity number 4 and ask them to answer the questions individually then check in pairs with their partners then I will give them feedback on the write answers if I found mistakes. *I will ask them to read the activity number 5 then answer the questions with their partners then feedback also including the write answers if the mistakes are found.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

*I will ask them to read the text carefully then I will ask them to discuss with their friends the tenses which the text is including, they are the past continuous and passive voice. * I will start clarifying the meaning of the past continuous using the MFP then I will give them the activity number 6 I will ask them to read it then put the correct verb individually followed by check in pairs then feedback and correcting the answers if I found mistakes. I will start also clarifying the meaning of the passive voice by examples and using the MFP strategy too then I'll give them the activity number 7 and ask them to work individually then discuss the answers with their partners then feedback and correcting mistakes.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask them to write a paragraph about the most dangerous situation that happened to them before, I will provide them with the language if they need then I will ask them to use these paragraphs to make a conversation with their partners about that situations then I will ask them about the similarities they have found and correcting any mistakes found in the feedback.
