To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about languages.
Procedure (37-45 minutes)
-T. depends on the last two lesson to start the lead-in. -T. asks Ss to express their opinion about the importance of the language and if they agree or disagree that all people who work should know how to speak and write in English. -Ss express their opinion.
- T. pre- teaches vocabulary " crash course - hire" - T. tells Ss to listen to three members of HR department talking about how to improve the English of some groups. - Ss listen and answer the first questions. -Ss check answers in pairs. -T. elicit answers. -Ss. listen again and take notes to finish Ex B -Ss. check answers together. -T. elicit answers.
-Ss are divided into two groups. -T. tells them to imagine that they are a holding a board meeting to discuss what they are going to do to improve the employees' language and what they have to consider with each option. -Ss have to convince each other. Ss. discuss their choice with the other group.
-T. monitors and takes notes. -T. writes Ss mistakes on board to be corrected.
