  • speaking practice of TL to talk about things they (Ss) should/shouldn't have done in specific situations (given) in the past.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

are you good at making decisions? have you ever regretted a decision you made?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss read the story about Andrew and Debra, which statement do you agree with? open class feedback

Highlighting ( Language Clarification) (8-10 minutes) • To draw student's attention to TL and clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T elicit 1st Marker Sentence " Debra should have gone home with Andrew" T clarifies MPF ( detailes in LA sheet) T elicit 2nd Marker sentence "Debra could have died during her journey" T clarifies MPF T elicit 3rd marker sentence" Andrew would have been responsible" T clarifies MPF

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss do excercise 1 individually T monitors check in pairs answers on board

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

set of card situations for each pair give example ask Ss to take a card and speak to your partner about the situation T monitor T gives delayed feedback and try to make students correct the errors themselves
