Description

in this lesson ,students will practice reading as a receptive skills through the context of " Machines behaving badly " .students will particularly practice scanning as sub-skill ,they will look for specific information .through the text as answers for questions and vocabulary exercise about the topic (Machines behaving badly).then students try to pronunciate some words by making the stressed syllable on the words.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

interring class room with a smile greeting learners , asking them how are you today? T plays the powerpoint show then asks Ss to look at the picture and answer these questions what is this? is it nice ? T asks Ss to close their eyes and take a deep breath. T asks them to imagine that they are on an island and choose a person to go there with . T asks them to think of three objects you can't stay there without .

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T sticks some pictures on the board then asks student to identify the objects.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T gives students an exercise and asks them to check the meaning of the new vocab by matching the words with its meaning . and T checks their answers with each other feedback: I will give them the right answers to check their answers .

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T asks students to read the passage about machines behaving badly and guides them to scan and read the text individually and try to guess the suitable tittle to the lesson

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T asks them if they think the writer feels positively or negatively about dictionary . T asks them to match the headline below with the seven paragraphs .

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T asks students to speak in groups if they agree with the writer or not .
