Description

In this lesson the students will share their thoughts and experiences about holidays, they will talk to their partners about how do they think a perfect holiday should be. They will practice writing by writing an e-mail to their friends and telling their friend about their holiday experiences.

Materials

Abc HO1,HO2,HO3, text

Main Aims

  • students will write an e-mail to their friend about their holiday experiences

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide the clarification of the useful that they will use while writing an e-mail to their friend.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T tells the Ss to share their ideas in pairs about " according to them, how do they think a perfect holiday should be?" once they have shared their ideas, T will tell the Ss to share their ideas with the class.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will give the Ss the text which has two e-mails written to a friend one with a good holiday experience and the other with a bad holiday experience. T will give the HO1 to the Ss and tell them to write what they think are the most and least important things to bring on a holiday.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T will give the Ss HO2 and tell them to define and provide examples for the useful language. Ss will peer check and share their answers with the class so we can make sure that all the Ss have the same answer and have understood the useful language.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will give the Ss HO3 and they will write an e-mail to their friend, they can use the text provided to them earlier as an example. once they have completed they will exchange their papers with their partner and read each others papers and discuss about what they have wrote.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T will tell the Ss to stick their paper around the room and all the Ss will go around the room and decide which was the best letter email according to them T will ask them if they have noticed any errors on their peers paper and will correct the errors as WCFB.
