Description

in this lesson SS will get more familiar with using "the present simple","the present continuous", "be going to",and wii+inf" in the future.The lesson will start with discussion of the SS plans for the week end and for the next week. This is followed by reading a conversation between James and Richard. SS will be asked to answer the gist question"What do they discuss? the time and how to get there and the traffic- their food and gym - their mothers and sisters. T doesn't elicit explanation in this activity. T will give SS a discovery sheet. SS will answer . T will give feed back and correct any errors. T will write the sentences and give clarification of pronunciation on the WB. SS will do a gap filling activity form ( as a controlled practice) using the future forms. SS will be asked to talk about their plans for the weekend and for the future.

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about time and traffic in the context of geting to a olace

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

SS will talk in pairs or groups about their plans at the weekend or the next week or month

Reading Task (3-5 minutes) • To practice reading for gist- to contextualize and introduce the target language

T will write the gist question on the board and ask SS to read and answer this question. T will tell the SS to read quickly not in detail. This will be individually then pair checking and then WCFB

Highlighting target language (5-10 minutes) • to highlight the target language so that learners are focused into it

T will give SS HOs that contains Questions. SS will answer some questions . T will write the sentences on the board. They are the target language of the lesson . This will be individually then in pairs for checking and WCFB

Language Analysis (15-20 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

This will be through guided discovery sheet . SS will answer the first one to know the meaning and the second one to know the form. T will clarify the pronunciation on the board. T will clarify the stress syllable and intonation. T will elicit the answers.

Language Practice (7-12 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

SS wili be handed worksheets as a controlled practice focused on the target language. SS will answer in pairs then the teacher will give WCFB. If there is time SS will in pairs speak about their plans in the next weekend or next week
