in this lesson the students will learn how to read fluently beside they will learn that how violence can have effect on their lives.

Main Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about how violence can effect viewers in the context of movie,computer games

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about effect of violence on viewers in the context of Adapting an interesting text about movies, out of the students’ reading books and implementing it in the classroom

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

involving student in the class by showing a picture related to the topic & asking student to guess the topic of reading

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

asking students about their personal knowledge about movies & video games and wanted them to express their own opinion

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

monitoring the students while they are reading so that l can see whether they understand it or not. opening a video and asks students to watch it. wanting students to match the characters in the video with their birth orders.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

asking student to give a summary asking them to prepare some question related to the text

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

distributing an activity sheet on which there different types of questions including “open-ended, multiple choice and true false questions” and ask students to answer them.
