Description

In this lesson,students will learn about the wild.They will learn vocavulary in relation to the wild animals and birds,with exercises to follow to clarify what they have learned.They will also have reading practice in the context of into the wild.They will have exercises to practise their reading with a hint of writing.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed information reading practice using a text about experiences in the wild in the context of into the wild.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of words which are related to the wild in the context of into the wild.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead in • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will see some pictures about some wild animals in our world such as wild bee and snakes and I will ask them some CCQs about the pictures such as what about the first picture?what is this?what do you think about the bees and these snakes?

Vocabulary pre-teaching • To pre-teach students vocabulary that may be troublesome in the reading task

Students will see the difficult words on the board which are written on wall chart and on the othet side,there are the definitions of these words.I will ask them to discuss the definitions of each words in pairs and finally,I will ask them to match every word with its meaning.

Clarification of language focus • To clarify the meaning , form and pronunciation of the target language.

I will write some words on the board and I will ask them some CCQs about the words and finally ,drill pronunciation orally and individually.

pre-Reading or gist reading. • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will give the students the reading text,I will ask them to gist or read the text quickly for 4minutes and finally,I will ask them to give me a suitable title of the text.

while reading • To provide students with more challenging detailed,deduction and inference reading tasks

I will give the students 10minutes to read the text alone.I will moniter them attentively.

post-Reading • To provide students with an apportunity to respond to the text and expabd on what they've learned

Feedback and error correction

I will ask the students to write a summary on the passage in pairs and I will ask them to read the summary and I will correct any mistakes and also.I will give them a feed back after any activity
