In this lesson, students are going to learn adverbs of frequency and how to use them in sentences and make questions for them in the context of hobbies and interests.

Procedure

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • to generate my students' interest in the topic of the lesson ( adverbs of frequency) and and engage them

Teacher pretends that she is hungry because she has dinner at that time everyday and Asks Ss to guess her favourite hobby which is eating and going to the restaurant.

Building context (15-18 minutes) • To narrow the context to a more specific area and continue to generate interest while establishing a clear and specific context for the language to arise out of

-Teacher writes this sentence on the board (I............. go to the restaurant.) and tries to elicit adverbs of frequency from students by guessing the gap in pairs. If nobody could guess, she will write 'everyday' and tries to elicit always. Then she asks students : How often do u go to the restaurant in a week? and asks students to talk in pairs then WCFB. T sticks a HO for each group including two- columns of true and false.Ss are given some slips about teacher's hobbies (e.g I always do exercise, I usually cook food, I sometimes watch TV...) and asks stuedents to guess and stick them on the right column.WCFB

Presentation (13-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, pronounciation, and form of the adverbs of frequency (MFP)

Teacher writes the true sentences of previous activity on the board as her marker sentences. she aske CCQS for each sentence to be sure that learners understand them. Teacher also draws a continuum . - I always do exercise. CCQs: Do I exercise everyday? Yes - I usually cook food. CCQs: do I cook food everyday? no do I cook food 5 -6 days a week? yes - I sometimes watch TV. CCQs: Do I watch TV 6 times a week? No Do I watch TV 3 days a week? yes - I never play tennis. CCQs: Do I play tennis 4 days a week? No Do I play tennis? No - I rarely play football. CCQs: do I play football once a year? Yes - I am always happy. CCQs: Am I happy every time? Yes Then she focus on the pronunciation by saying them and asking the students to repeat after her to be sure they know how to say them. It will be followed by clarifying form by asking some CCQs such as Is it a subject or verb? verb, is it an adjective or adverb of frequency? adverb of frequency, is it a verb or a noun? verb... do we use adverbs of frequency before the main verb or after?before.

(4-5 minutes) • Practicing adverbs of frequency

Teacher gives students a handout including two columns, name and how often.... and asks students to ask questions and complete it in groups. WCFB

production (3-4 minutes) • to provide freer oral practice and focus on using the adverbs of frequency

Ss are asked to play rock paper scissor game in pairs .The winner will tell an adverb of frequency and the loser should make a sentence with that.T will monitor them.
