Materials

Main Aims

  • In this lesson, the students are going to improve their receptive skills of reading through the subsiklls of skimming, scanning, reading for specific information and details. The subaim of the lesson is productive skill of speaking and the students will have a chance to practise speaking in the context of food.

Subsidiary Aims

  • • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of food

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T gives SS a list of foods T asks SS if the foods are Carbohydrates or Proteins SS work with a partner and add four more kinds of food for each catergory SS share ideas with teacher

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T focuses on the title "mood food?" and elicits / explains the meaning of food, in this context. T might also ask the difference between stress and relax. T explains Ss are going to read a text about mood food. How does diet effect our energy levels.? T explains the questions.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

SS read article again SS with a partner say in their own words why the fallowing people are mentioned SS give as much information as possible
