In this Lesson, students will discuss quantifiers. First, they will listen to complete the gaps with quantifiers.Then, they will categorize the quantifiers into three lists which are countable, uncountable, and both. After that, they will work in pairs to discuss which quantifiers best complete the sentences in practice 1 about the university or the place tf work. Finally will work in groups to discuss the place where they live using appropriate quantifiers by using things that are in the box.

Main Aims

  • Ss listen to specific information and practice speaking using quantifiers

Warmer/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss look at the picture of the desert and think about the possible dangers. Ss make a list of ten things they would need to take on a trip into the desert

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss listen to recording and complete the gaps. Ss work in pairs to check their answers. Ss listen to recording again and check their answers.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T asks ss "Which of the words below are countable?,Which are uncountable?" " chance, fuel, rule, water"

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T asks ss to look at the words in the gaps in Ex3 and categorize the quarantines into three lists. Quarantines which are used with countable nouns. Quarantines which are used with uncountable nouns. Quarantines which are used with both. Ss come to the board to check the answers.

Controlled Practice (7-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T demonstrates practice 1 T asks ss to work in pairs to dicuss which quantifiers best complete practice 1 about their classroom, university, or place of work.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T demonstrates practice 2. Ss work in groups and discuss the place they live in using appropriate quantifiers with the things in the box .
