In this lesson, Ss will learn about quantifiers,too, not enough.

Materials

Abc a bottle of water
Abc a cup of tea
Abc handdout
Abc power point
Abc white board

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of the quantifiers in the context of How much sugar do you need?

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a converstion

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will create a real situation with Ss to introduce enough and too.

Test #1 (4-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Task 1 I will give Ss a handout to answer the question in pairs. Ss givel WCFB.

Teach (5-7 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

CCQs: Do you have enough water? Are you clever enough to answer the question? Is Eldar too tall? I will clarify what they don't understand and Ss will deduct the rule.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I will hand out the Ss a task to answer in pairs to check their prior knowledge of '' a lot of, many, a few, much and a little'' I will get WCFB.

Teach (5-8 minutes) • To provide and clarify language which learners may find useful for completing speaking

(CCQs) 1. How much/many cups of coffee do you drink a day? 2. I don’t spend much /many time in the sun. 3. I eat a lot of/ many chocolate. 4. Drinking a few/ a little red wine can be good for you. I will elicit the rule from Ss.

controlled test (5-7 minutes) • To check the students' understanding of the rule.

I will give Ss a hand out and they will answer individually. Ss will check in pairs. then WCFB.

Task 4 (4-7 minutes) • Ss will know the some sounds of English.

I will use the power point to present some particular sounds. Ss will deduct the sound through the show. I will give them a handout to circle the word that pronounced differently. They will work in pairs. Then WCFB.

Free practice (5-7 minutes) • Ss will practice what they have learnt through speaking

I will give Ss a hand out. They will work in pairs. They will ask and answer. Ss will change their partners to exchange knowledge.
