Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn about how to give their own review about the media programs such as books, movies, concert, video games or T.V programs. so I am going to teach them the language which will help them to speak fluently about these things which they have done before. So after teaching them the functions, I will ask them to choose an interesting movie, book, concert whatever to give their own review about it.

Materials

Abc Video for a concert/ some pictures/ audio about person talking about his favorite movie

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a speaking practice in a describeing or giveing an opinion about a movie, book or a vedio game. in the context of media

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of language used for of language used which is used for to give an opinion about things they have seen before in the context of media

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lesson by a video of a concert for Justin Timberlake then I will ask them, What is it? it is a musical concert Do you know the name of this singer? Justin Timberlake. Do you like listening to his songs? yes /no What's your favorite singer? They will start saying different names...etc. Does anyone like PlayStation games, reading books staff like that? I will listen to their answers while speaking.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I will tell the students that they are gonna listen to a person speaking about something so I want you to listen carefully to know what does he talk about? After finishing I will ask them to discuss together the subject which the speaker was talking about? I will ask them questions like: Does he talk about his best or worst movie? who are the movie stars? what is the name of the director?

Useful Language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

After listening I will give them a task, it is a matching task they going to match the functions with the information which the person was provided us. I will ask them to check answers together then I will provide them with my feedback in the end and clarify the meaning of any word they don't know.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will ask the students to choose a name of a movie or anything they think it's interesting to give us a review ( describe and give an opinion about it). Speaking task: I will ask the students to look at the questions in exercise (b) then I will put the students in pairs they going to ask the question and the other going to answer it using the functional language to give the review about his movie and after finishing they will change the rules. then I will choose some of them to practice their review in front of their classmates. After finishing I will choose two from the students to practice their review in front of their partners.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-4 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

In the end, I will give them my feedback and correct students mistakes.
