Description

In this lesson students learn about the directions ,asking for and giving directions .The lesson will start with brain storm about the picture which I will stick on the board , then ask them to relate the picture with the other pictures which I 'll stick around the first picture .I 'll use some activities to show the meaning .

Main Aims

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about lexis about directions in the context of asking

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'm going to put a basic picture and some hidden picture and I will ask them to guess which picture will help him to get home .

pre listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

teacher will ask them what will they need to do to get anew place for the first time ? I will elicit some ideas about these ?

while listening (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T. asks students to listen carefully to three dialogues where people are asking for directions . teacher will ask them to write down the names of the place they are looking for and how they are going to get there.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

teacher will give students four ways of asking for directions and ask them to complete the gaps in the sentences then ask them to check their answers with each others . feedback : teacher will check their answers and discus with W C .

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Teacher will ask student to read the direction on the wall and put them under the right direction . Feedback: I will check their answers

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T. will give the students two pictures that have some missing places then divide them into two groups and ask them to read the direction on the wall to get and name these places. feedback: Teacher ask them to compare their pictures to check their answers
