Description

In this lesson Ss will learn to explain some daily routines they do in short time. They will also explain the reason why they do it with such a harry. Ss will use some words and phrases such as: it take time, fast, no time. We will end a lesson with a dialog related to the topic and used as a sample for error correction.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows photos of people doing things in a hurry. T elicits some time expressions, adjectives and adverbs from Ss, "Fast, in a hurry, no time, quickly.." T writs on WB: NO TIME T asks Ss: "Tell your friend next to you what are the things you have to do very fast because you don't have time?" T monitors

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading

T chests ex1a, pg.36 "You have 6 small paragraphs, and 6 titles for each of them. Read the titles, read the paragraphs and match them. Work alone please, you have 4 minutes." ICQs: "Are you reading the titles first, or the paragraphs?" Titles. T monitors "check in pairs" WCFB

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T hands strips od paper to Ss, " These are time expressions and these are their meanings, match them with your friend next to you, you have 4 minutes." T divides Ss to groups, "Now, discuss your answers with your group" T monitors , T hands answer key to each group.

Productive Task(s) (14-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T regroups Ss T chests questionnaire, "In your group, please ask theses questions to 3 different people. Write their answers Yes or No and don't forget to write their names, 10 minutes." ICQs: Are you asking one person? No three. T monitors T regroups again, Ss ask new people T monitors

Feedback and Error Correction (10-12 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T divides Ss to groups of 3, provides Ss with different dialog, "Please practice the dialog you have with your group, you have 4 minutes." T monitors, checks When they finish practicing Ss comes to front and do the dialog to WC.
