Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T shows Ss pictures of old actors in their childhood. -T. asks Ss if they know any of them. -T. elicits answers. -T. divides the class in to groups and gives each group pictures of those actors and their names. -T. asks Ss to guess and match between the picture and the name of the actors. -T. monitors.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T. encourages Ss to talk about those actors in 2 mins using.. I think..........because.......... - T. asks students to guess the answer in the short quiz EX2 . -T. tells Ss to listen to check their answers.

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

-T. asks Ss to underline all the examples of was/were -T. checks quickly -T. asks Ss Are these verbs in the past,present or future? past

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T.asks Ss when is was/were used? -T. elicits answers -T. drills an example sentences, positive, negative and question form. -T. elicits the form "LA is attached o the lesson plan"

Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T. gives Ss a handout to practise the target language individually. -T. asks Ss to revise answers in pairs. - T. provides Ss. with the correct answer

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-11 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

-T. asks Ss to work in pairs to practice the target language using the previous exercise. -T. demonstrates with one or two students. - T. asks Ss to practice. -T. monitors and takes notes

Feedback (2-3 minutes) • To praise Ss and corrects any of their mistakes.

-T.praises Ss. -T. writes some of the Ss' wrong sentences on the board to correct them.
