Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • to generate my students' interest in the topic of the lesson

Introduction/ T shows Ss a picture and asks them to share their ideas about the picture( eg. what they see in the picture, is it a big/small city? what city is it?...) with their partner for a minute and then with the whole class.

Preparing to write (10 minutes) • To provide Ss with a model of the task

T gives Ss a gap fill handout and asks them to do it individually then check their answers in pairs , finally WCFB

Useful language (5-6 minutes) • to provide and clarify language which learners may find useful for completing the writing task

T sticks 4 pieces of paper on 4 places in class.these phrases are written on them : -....... has a population of( about )...... - ........ is famous for ......... - ....... has problems with..... - ...... .the best thing is Then, devide Ss into 4 groups and gives each group 4 strips of paper.These words are written on them. - 7ooooooo - traffic and pollution - restaurants - Aya sufiya

Writing task (15-20 minutes) • learners practice their written fluency

T with the help of students write about her city on the board by using phrases from the previous stage. eg. T: What is my city famous for? It's famous for ..... Then T gives the Ss two pieces of paper and asks students to write about a place individually without writing the name of the city on one of the papers and the city's name on the smaller paper. It is followed by checking in pairs or groups, sticking their writing on the wall ,puttıng the answer key on the table and asking students to mingle around the class in pairs, to read and guess the name of the places.
