Procedure (23-31 minutes)
I will show the students a vedio about geography as a lead in activity to make the students know what is our lesson about. The vedio is about the meaning of geography with some amazing pictures so it will attract their attention. Then I will ask them what they think our lesson is about? and what is the meaning of geography that they get from the vedio. Then I will start my lesson.
The lesson starts with a quick reading (skimming), the students will read the questions only and work together to try to answer these questions without reading the answers. I will give them the time they need to answer all the questions so it will be easy to make them get the answers.
The students will read the whole text to get the answers of the questions (scanning) they will read in detail, to see if they were right. Then I will clarify the lexis thet is found in the text.
students will read the text to find geographical words to complete the puzzle, so the will do a gist reading to get specific words. When they finish the puzzle they will get the missing word going down. At the end of the lesson, students will listen to an audio to listen how the litter 'i' is pronounced in the words: river & china. then they will look at a list of similar words to find out how is the letter 'i' pronounced, then they will listen and check if they are right, finally, they will listen again and practise saying the words.
