Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Simple past in the context of Clothes

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Debate in the context of Activities


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will greet ss. T will ask for their homework. T will ask the previous session's lesson.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will ask ss to underline the past tenses in the task. T will explain the grammar on the board. T will ask ss to do the task

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

In the second task, after doing it, T will ask ss to stand in front of the class and talk about their activities using simple past. Ss will also be asked to make a conversation with their friends.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will play games with ss explaining the grammar. In this stage they might have problem with new words which T will explain them with gestures.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

At the end of the class T will play ss a music track and will ask ss to try to guess the lyrics then s/he will write the lyrics on the board.
