Description

In this lesson student will learn to: Talk about things they do everyday. Ask about daily routines. Ask about weekends and holidays. They will also learn hoe to write the questions correctly using: when, where and how.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T Shows photos of people doing different activities using WB (projector), "What is s\he doing?" Ss give answers: "having breakfast, working, running...." The last photo will be a woman conducting a survey. Ss: "interview" T hands this photo to Ss, "listen and choose the correct answer under the photo, you will listen one time." T plays the audio, WCFB and write on WB (survey)

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

-T shows ex.1a pg50, "These questions are wrong, listen carefully and write them correctly. You will listen 2 times. Work alone." ICQs: "Are these questions correct or wrong?" Wrong. "Are you listening one time or two times?" Two. "Are you working alone or with your friend?" ALONE! -T: "Now check with your friend next to you. 1 minute." -T selects Ss to write the correct question on WB. -T hands ex. 1c pg 50: "Match the questions with the answers, work alone you have 2 minutes." -T: "Check in pairs" -T monitors. WCFB

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

-T gives Ss small cards, "Please choose the correct answer, work alone, you have 1 minute." ICQs: "Are you choosing one or two answers?" one. -T: "Check with your friend, you have 2 minutes." -T writs what's written on the card on WB We use "where?" to ask about: time - place - condition We use "when?" to ask about: time - place - condition We use "how?" to ask about: time - place - condition -T select Ss to choose the answer -T shows ex.1b pg.50, do a demo and hand them to Ss: "Add when, where or how to these questions. work alone you have 2 minutes" ICQs: "Are you adding where to ask about time or place?" Place. "Are you adding when to ask about time?" Yes . " Are you adding how to ask about condition?" Yes. -T: "Check in pairs" -T posts the answers on WB, divides Ss into groups. Let them choose the leader to bring the answers. ICQS included.

Productive Task(s) (12-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

-T gives each Ss 3 cards with different kind of questions, divide them into groups of four, "You will do a survey with 3 people from your group. Ask them them the questions about the routine and write their answers. you have 6 minutes." ICQs: "Are you going to ask 2 or 3 people?" Three " Are you going to write ate answers or just speak?" Write -T monitor, check errors and correct. -T select the Ss with the correct answers to come to the front and read the answers of the survey. T reads the first one (demo)". -T praises.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T divides Ss into A, "A, B, A, B ......" T hands a dialog: "Read this dialog and practice together. (A) will ask the questions, (B) will answer. When you finish you will come and do it here. You have 2 minutes." ICQs: "A will ask or answer?" Ask. Ss play the dialog. T praises.
