In this lesson students learn some vocabulary under the context of "rooms and fournitures". They will learn this vocabulary through different kinds of activities including matching, fill in the gaps, and a dialogue. students learn also some prepositions of place in order to be able to use them with the target vocabulary about fournitures.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set and connect lesson context with the previous one.

T shows a picture of Robert in his bedroom and ask sts these questions. " who's he?" === Robert "where's he?"=== in his bedroom "how did you know?" === the fourniture.

Test #1 (diagnostic) (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T chesting HO of 8 pictures and 8 names of the fournitures. T gives instructions " look at this exercise. we have 8 pictures of the items in rover's room and 8 names . I want you to match them in 5 mins" ICQs: how many pictures?===8 how many names?===8 how many minutes? 5 mins. Sts check in pairs. T projects the pictures and ask sts to write under each one its name.

Teach (clarification) (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Part 1: T keeps the pictures and their names on the WB T asks CCQs for some of them. " where can we find a mug?" " do we drink or eat in a mug?" "where can we find a bed?" "do we normally eat or sleep in it?" T drills the words chorally T highlights the stress in each word with different colour. T explains the part of speech of the words. Part 2: T clarifies the meaning of prepositions of place using demonstractions. T gives examples of prepositions used with the fournitures T drills the whole sentence with the sts chorally again.

Test #2 (controlled practice) (8-14 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Part 1: T divides sts into 2 different groups (As & Bs) T shows the pictures to sts and explain the task. T gives each group a different picture of a bedroom. T gives instructions. " these are two pictures of two different bedrooms. All As will have the same picture and all Bs will have the same, BUT As' picture is different one from Bs' one. " you will have to ask each other these questions on the WB to find the differences " "take turns" T models ICQs how many pictures you have ? ====2 are they the same? ====== no are you sts from the same group suppose to ask each other ?==== no, ask the other group. part 2: T explains the prepositions of place using demos. T projects Roberts picture T chesting the HO of exercise 2 T gives instructions " we have 8 gaps. look at the picture and fill the gaps with the right prepositions". You have 4 mins.
