Description

In this lesson, Ss will learn how to write a what paragraph about their favorite day. To do the task T will lead in the lesson by a short review about the present simple tense to help the Ss to review what the have learnt in the previous present simple lessons. T will give Ss a gap fill activity to help them use some time expressions of the simple present tense. T will ask Ss to write a paragraph about their favourite day. When Ss finish writing T will ask them to share their paragraphs in a free speaking activity.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows Ss three pictures of daily activities of a student. Ss will look at some pictures. T asks Ss to talk about the activities of the student. Question: what does the student do in the first, second then the third picture? Ss answer by using a full sentence.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T asks Ss to look at Christina's paragraph about her favourite day. Ss will discuss with the teacher the layout of the text. T asks Ss to read the highlighted words in the text. T will elicit the meaning of these words. T will ask Ss to give some sentences using these words.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T gives Ss a gap fill activity. Ss work individually to do the task. T mnitors to evaluate the Ss work Ss share and discuss their answers with their partners. T gives Ss answer key T asks Ss to check their answers

T asks Ss to work individually to write a paragraph about their favourite day. T gives Ss some headings and expressions to help them do the task. Ss work individually and write their paragraph. T monitors

Feedback and Error Correction (6-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ss check in pairs their work. Ss will stick their pragraphs on the wall. Every S chooses a paragraph and talk about it
